WHAT IS SAVVA?
Formed in 1968 The Southern African Veteran and Vintage Association (SAVVA) is the Association to which clubs are affiliated. The objects of the Association are to promote and improve co-operation between the various clubs and organisations in Southern Africa concerned with the preservation, restoration and use of all vehicles built before 1997. Also to stimulate an interest in all aspects of the activities of the clubs and to publish, print and circulate literature in furtherance of these activities.
SAVVA is affiliated to Motorsport South Africa (MSA) the National controlling body for all motorsport in South Africa. MSA in turn is affiliated to the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) the world motorsport controlling body (FIM). SAVVA is the South African representative of the Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens (FIVA) the International Historic Vehicle Organisation (IHVO).

SAVVA DATING
A uniform system of dating vehicles and motorcycles is followed which ensures a true record of the authenticity of the vehicle. A standard Application Form, Certificate and Plaque is used by all clubs. Owners of old vehicles are encouraged to have their vehicles dated as this proves the authenticity and can be used for licensing and insurance purposes. For more information, consult SAVVA’s website.
